Hungarian National Museum
The Hungarian National Museum (HNM) as the flagship museum of Hungary collects, preserves and exhibits all types of objects connected to the history of the country and the surrounding region from the Neolithic Age to the present day. Most of the cca. 3.8 million objects are stored in the main museum building and in external depositories. Only cca. 12.000 objects are on display at the moment. The HNM has a significant archaeological collection; musical instruments, photographs, posters, coins and medals, arms and armour, goldsmith objects and modern materials such as polymers, etc.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
The HNM will use the expertise of several of its departments to cooperation with the AURORA consortium members and external stakeholders. The museum will supervise Task 6.2 activities in conjunction with other partners, guiding the intervention on different artworks for hardware implementation. The technical partners will participate to realize the final embedded wireless sensor system demonstrator to assess the process of artwork tracking: a long-range artwork tracking feasibility will be evaluated, to pave the way for an advanced localization system. The embedded systems developed in WP5 will exchange data with the cloud-based infrastructure regarding the status of the artwork displayed on smartphone interface, developed in WP4. The activities under this task will contribute to Task D6.2. The tracking features of the AURORA digital tools will be tested in this task and will compose together with the digital tool testing performed in Task 6.1.
